Copilot Through Minecraft

Nationwide
Grades 8–9
Program Duration: Four online Microsoft Teams sessions for students, plus one in-person school event to present projects, in collaboration with Microsoft

Overview

It’s time to turn your Minecraft world into an amazing programming playground! In our new program, you’ll learn to code and create within your favorite game, Minecraft, bringing your imagination to life. You’ll build your own virtual worlds, program mods, and tackle tasks designed to sharpen your programming skills.

What’s in the Program?

Minecraft is more than just a game – it’s an independent learning tool that allows you to explore, build, and face challenges in a 3D environment.
Across four virtual sessions and one in-person meeting at school, you will have the chance to showcase your creations in collaboration with Microsoft. During the virtual sessions, you’ll learn the basics of Minecraft programming, experiment with mod creation, and build your own virtual worlds. The in-person meeting at school will let you present your projects, receive feedback, and learn from others’ experiences.
At the end of the program, you’ll present your creations alongside Microsoft, showing the world your skills and creativity.

What’s Required from the School?

  • Identify relevant students for the training
  • Assign a mentor teacher to guide the students
  • Support students in preparing their projects
